Dave Koz Travelogue: Thursday
Thursday: Early Arrival in Seattle
We flew in the day before the cruise to have an extra day in one of the great cities in America—Seattle, Washington.
This really should be considered another port of call on the cruise because there is so much to see and do in this
city—be it a stroll through the bustling Pike Place Market, where you can literally see fish flying when it is sold,
street performers everywhere, amazing produce, food, flowers, unique shops etc…or perhaps a walk along the
Seattle waterfront where one of the great aquariums in the US is located.
No trip to this city is complete
(for me, that is) without a visit to Ivar’s Fish Bar on the waterfront. Fried clams and chips…the BEST!
Add to that, the Space Needle, wonderful shopping in the very cool shopping district downtown and awesome
restaurants, Seattle is the ideal place to spend an extra day or two before or after a cruise to Alaska.
We had a blast and it really set the tone for what was to come.
